Project Specifications

  • Client: ALDI UK
  • Sector: Commercial & Industrial
  • Completion Date: September 2026

We were appointed to deliver a brand-new, purpose-built 20,000 sq ft food retail store at Ketley Point in Telford. Constructed on the landmark former site of the Shropshire Star newspaper, the development marks a major milestone in the wider regeneration of Waterloo Road, breathing vibrant new life into a vacant brownfield location and delivering flexible local employment opportunities to the community.

The scheme required a comprehensive scope of construction works to transform the historic site into a high-specification retail destination tailored to Aldi’s operational model. The standalone building incorporates an expansive, modern sales floor alongside high-volume back-of-house warehouse storage, welfare facilities, and administrative offices. To streamline daily logistics and stock delivery, the rear yard was engineered with a dedicated single dock leveller, providing secure, efficient, and weather-protected offloading direct from distribution centres.

Site accessibility and future-ready infrastructure were prioritised throughout external groundworks. Our team constructed an extensive customer car park providing over 100 dedicated spaces, complete with dedicated Electric Vehicle (EV) charging bays to support greener transport across the area.

Delivered on programme in summer 2026, the new ALDI food store brings high-quality, energy-efficient retail provision to Ketley. For further information on the neighbouring unit available to rent or buy, please view our listing here.
