Environmental
We pledge to constantly improve the management of our environmental impact and have developed a robust strategy with targets and a plan to decarbonisation. Find our strategy and baseline here.
Taking positive action
Having established a baseline of our carbon footprint, we are now able to measure our performance and this past year can report a reduction in our carbon production and usage on our journey to Net Zero.
Green Day
3rd November 2025 marks our first Green Day updating colleagues on our progress against our carbon reduction objectives with some fun facts and fuel to inspire us onwards.
It is six months since we published our full carbon reduction report, so we have created a handy Morris Green Journey Update packed full of the latest initiatives we are undertaking to reduce our carbon footprint.
To drive home the message everyone will also receive a little green Morris van packed with green treats and a copy of Mike Berners Lee book to share with colleagues: How Bad Are Bananas? The carbon footprint of everything.
Climate Change: The Facts
In this short film, Sir David Attenborough looks at the science of climate change and potential solutions to this global threat.
Interviews with leading climate scientists explore hard hitting facts and events, from extreme weather conditions to what dangerous levels of climate change could mean for the future of our population and the natural world.
Carbon Literacy Training
Members of our senior team have completed insightful and interactive Carbon Literacy Training with Adrian Cooper from The Clean Tech Business Group Ltd.
The two-session course embeds the principles of sustainability within the senior team to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to both implement change and communicate the business’s sustainability ambitions through their own teams.
Champion saver of the quarter
We are launching a challenge for staff across the business for people to find their own ways of saving energy and reducing carbon with a mystery prize for the first winner.
As a starting point we are asking staff to calculate their personal carbon footprint using the WWF carbon footprint calculator
Going electric
Our car fleet is now predominantly electric with the remainder of vehicles plug-in hybrids, and we have now started the conversion of our commercial fleet to electric.
We provide free electric charging points for our staff and at all our holiday rental properties at Marrington to help reduce car emissions.
Recycling for good
As part of our documentation management, we use the services of EvaStore who not only securely store and destroy documentation, but they also recycle much of the paperwork that we generate.
Rehoming surplus materials
From sending surplus bricks and blocks to help college apprentices build and deconstruct walls, to donating off-cuts of wood to local charities, we work hard to ensure materials from our sites are reused or rehomed wherever possible.
Keeping our red cabins green
On site, our accommodation and cabins are complete with PIR LED lights, waterless urinals, dual flush WC cisterns, UPVC double glazed windows and heater timers to reduce energy consumption.
Proud considerate constructors
We register many of our projects with Considerate Constructor Scheme and target as a minimum ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’. We follow the ‘Code of Considerate Practice’ across all of our sites.
Sustainable suppliers
Our Procurement processes adopt a sustainable procurement policy which set out key obligations for supply chain appointments. This enables us to appoint designers, architects and suppliers who provide us with the required materials and components in the best possible sustainable means possible.
