Baker Bellfield Ltd, Hortonwood 6, Telford

The team built this new factory at Telford’s Hortonwood West industrial estate to support the growth of specialist manufacturer, Baker Bellfield.

The company needed additional space after outgrowing its 50,000ft² manufacturing facility on the estate, which it retained. Baker Bellfield, which supplies commercial interiors for airports, rail, office and education sectors, invested around £1.6m in the project, including land costs.

The new 20,000ft² build included office space, car park and service yard. The factory was a traditional steel framed build with external cladding. The shell-only building included a mezzanine floor and space for an office fit-out. Externally, the project was finished with a tarmac yard for deliveries and separate visitor and staff car parking.

The site was fenced and included a gated entrance ready for landscaping by the client which was carried out as part of the later fit-out.

This new unit was our third at Hortonwood West and marked the start of a series of builds for private clients and the public sector in Telford.
