James Kent Homes, The Carriage Works, Shrewsbury

Project Specifications

Located in the heart of Shrewsbury’s vibrant town centre, The Carriage Works offered the ultimate combination of 21st century living within a unique and historic setting.

Apartments and Penthouse

From 1819, the Carriage Works was home to renowned craftsmen Mountford & Co. who traded from this town centre site for almost 100 years.

Morris & Company commissioned the project in 2005 which called for the conversion of the original property into nine two- and three-bedroom apartments and an elegant penthouse property.  Each of the homes had beautiful views over the town and benefitted from secure under croft parking.

Testimonials

“This site had a wonderful heritage as home to the oldest firm of carriage builders for so many years, so this was an interesting and satisfying project converting the original works into a collection of stylish homes fit for today’s discerning consumer, whilst retaining the essence of its heritage.”
