In 1989 we completed Radbrook Nursing home as the first in Morris and Company’s portfolio of Morris Care Homes.

Over the years a number of extensions and refurbishments have taken place at the sought-after Home in Shrewsbury, most recently including a 24 en-suite bedroom extension.

Phased refurbishment and creation of new wing

This latter project in 2019 included a three-storey extension to house general nursing and specialist dementia facilities on the upper floors and a new kitchen and laundry which, together with new staff facilities, formed the new lower ground level.

As a timber frame extension there were stringent and complex fire watch and preventative measures put in place during the build ensuring optimum safety at all times.

Morris Joinery provided all of the bespoke joinery, from windows and external doors to a range of internal fittings in the Home’s communal areas.

Subsequently, we completely refurbished and fitted out the Garden Suite 8 luxuriously appointed bedrooms and private lounges with assisted Spa bathrooms.

Morris Care and its assets were subsequently sold in 2023.

Testimonials

“Working in a sensitive setting called on our flexibility and discretion as a construction business. We benefited from day-to-day coordination with the home management team to minimise disruption to residents.”
