Social
As a fifth-generation family business, we love to get involved with our neighbours, local schools and suppliers to manage our impact, build trust and raise standards. From inspiring youngsters to learn about the built environment to providing life changing opportunities to build their careers in our company through our Apprenticeship Programmes.
A key element of our environment and social governance is to support local charities and organisations with fundraising, donations and sponsorships. We raise funds for both local and national charitable causes, many of which are close to the hearts and minds of our property team.

Advising for the future
We are active members of the ‘Skills Advisory Panel’ at Shrewsbury Colleges Group, lending our expertise to support the T Level in Design, Surveying, and Planning for Construction. The panel convenes three times a year to take a holistic approach to the evolving landscape of trades and technology within the construction industry.
By collaborating closely with the Shrewsbury Colleges Group, we aim to provide valuable company insights and guidance that will shape the future of education and training in the industry, ensuring that the next generation of construction professionals is well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Supporting Mind
In April, Senior Quantity Surveyor Alex Morris ran the TCS London Marathon and raised over £6,600 for mental health charity, Mind. He completed the 26.2-mile race dressed as a polar bear - a nod to the iconic Christmas rooftop residents of our Head Office building in Shrewsbury.

Championing connections
We supported Mental Health Awareness Week by bringing cool treats to our sites, reinforcing our belief that being part of a positive, inclusive community is vital for mental wellbeing.
As a business deeply rooted in people and place, we used this week to strengthen connections and demonstrate our commitment to fostering a supportive environment for everyone.

Donation for RSPCA
As part of our commitment to the communities we build in, we donated a variety of treats, toys, and enrichment items to help keep the animals at RSPCA Gonsal Farm Animal Centre entertained and happy.

Footie fundraiser
In August, the team raised over £500 for Bowel Research UK with football fundraiser cards available across our construction sites. Team members Tom Potts and Andy Watson helped raise awareness and generate support for this important cause with a personal connection.

St Chad's charity tree festival
With a little help from the younger Morris family members, we loved dressing our tree this year in support of St Chad's Christmas Tree Festival, which raises funds to support vulnerable people in the community.

Mos in Movember
In November, a selection of ‘Morris Mos’ used the power of their moustaches to raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. By the end of the month the team had moustaches to rival Tom Selleck and raised over £600!
