Shrewsbury College benefits from a second donation

Following on from our recent donation of bricks to the bricklayer apprentices at Shrewsbury Colleges Group’s (SCG) London Road Campus, we have donated 23 tables to the library at their Welsh Bridge Campus.

When we completed the £750,000 refurbishment of the Moser Library at Shrewsbury School, we were left with several desks. Rather than them going to waste, we have donated them to the college for them to replace and upgrade existing work space, benefitting its students and modernising the work space.

Jason Postans, Buyer, said: “It’s not uncommon to have leftover materials from projects, plans sometimes change and then we don’t need everything we ordered. We like to make sure these materials and resources go to a good home and so we’re very glad the SCG will benefit from this donation.

We are proud to be well rooted in the Shropshire community and try to help out local businesses and establishments where possible. The tables are now being used in the silent area in one of the College’s libraries. Small, folding desks and old-fashioned tables have also been replaced in the sound-proofed working area in the Quarry Learning Resource Centre.

Amanda Hartley Newton, Learning Resource Centre Team Coordinator, from Shrewsbury Colleges Group said: “We are so grateful for the donation. The tables have completely transformed our silent work area and it is now proving very popular with our students since the upgrade. Thanks again to the team at Morris Property.”
