Description
The future of Oakengates Town Centre is looking bright, thanks to a major transformation project led by Telford & Wrekin Council, with our team at the helm.
We’re revitalising the 1960s shopping precinct, reimagining it as a modern, welcoming retail destination for residents and visitors alike.
The scheme includes the full reconfiguration and refurbishment of fourteen ground-floor retail units and their frontages along Limes Walk and the adjoining Market Street – enhancing appeal and increasing footfall. Above the shops, we’ve created ten high-quality residential apartments, bringing new homes to the heart of the community.
Most recently, the team completed targeted demolition work and removed the external shop canopy to open up the area and introduce more natural light into the retail units. This will create a brighter, more inviting pedestrianised space and a larger public area designed to host events, activities, and an enhanced market offer.
Throughout construction, we’ve worked closely with Telford & Wrekin Council to ensure all active businesses in Oakengates could continue trading, providing temporary relocation solutions to keep the high street vibrant and operational.
