LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR NEW LITERATURE FESTIVAL

We are very pleased to support this year’s Shrewsbury Festival of Literature, a unique festival which marks a new chapter in the town’s vibrant programme of events.

It launches on Friday 25 November and runs until Sunday 27 November, celebrating fiction, poetry, story-telling and non-fiction, from well-known writers and others, in various locations across the town.

When word of the venture reached Morris Property, we were more than happy to support it with sponsorship. As a long-established family-run business in Shrewsbury, we believe in getting behind such enterprising local initiatives and wish it great success.

The festival’s theme is ‘telling the stories within’ to reflect how authors come to write particular stories and how they choose and research their subject.

Research and attention to detail is something we understand in our business but learning about the creative process from visiting writers will be something different.

Novelist Jonathan Coe, the festival’s patron, will help get the festival underway at the launch evening at the Blackburn Theatre and Chapel at Prestfelde School.

Over the three days, book lovers and aspiring writers can enjoy events including writing workshops, a poetry and short story open mic session and authors discussing their work and inspiration.
