MEE-FIT has successfully expanded its personal training business with the opening of a new gym at Stadium Point Business Park in Shrewsbury.
Founded in Whitchurch by husband-and-wife team Dan and Shannen Mee, MEE-FIT specialises in personal training and coach-led fitness sessions, with a strong focus on supporting those aged 50 and over in achieving their health and fitness goals within a welcoming and supportive environment.
The search for a second location was driven by a desire to better serve communities on the south side of Shrewsbury. Dan identified location as the main priority, explaining that it was the deciding factor in selecting Stadium Point.
“We always wanted our Shrewsbury facility to be in the south of the town because it better suited the people we work with and the communities we wanted to serve,” he explained.
Stadium Point stood out due to the quality of the development, accessibility and professional environment.
“It’s a well-designed business park with excellent accessibility and a premium feel. The units are finished to a very high standard, which was important because we wanted our surroundings to reflect the experience we aim to deliver inside MEE-FIT.”
Ease of access was always a major consideration. As many members train before or after work, convenient transport links and simple site access were. Dan said Stadium Point has performed exceptionally well in this regard, with members and staff finding it easy to access every day.
The quality of the development itself also aligned with the MEE-FIT brand. As a premium coaching service, the business sought a location that reflected its commitment to high standards.
“From the quality of the buildings and landscaping to the EV charging points and overall presentation of the estate, it felt like somewhere we’d be proud to call home,” said Dan.
Since opening, the new gym has allowed MEE-FIT to connect with new members from Meole Brace and neighbouring communities, including Dorrington, Cross Houses and Longden. Being situated alongside Shrewsbury Town Football Club has further strengthened the business’s visibility within the local area.
“There are plenty of fitness facilities across the town, but fewer coach-led environments specifically designed for the demographic we work with. We’ve already welcomed members from many of those areas in our first few weeks,” Dan added.
Feedback from gym members has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the site’s modern appearance, landscaped surroundings and ease of access.
The move into Unit 10 was made easier thanks to the flexibility offered by the brand-new premises. The unit provided a blank canvas, allowing MEE-FIT to create a bespoke training environment tailored to its members’ needs. Working alongside Plant & Robinson, the fit-out process was completed smoothly with only minimal adjustments required.
Dan also praised the support received from Morris Property throughout the move-in process.
“It became clear they were committed to creating a high-quality business community. That gave us real confidence that we’d found the right location. They’ve been extremely helpful whenever we’ve needed them. Every interaction has been positive and solution focused,” Dan said.
