Tenants at Abbey Lawn Office Park in Shrewsbury were delighted to join Guide Dogs UK for a special Meet and Greet event with their team and training dogs.
The event offered tenants the opportunity to learn more about the amazing work carried out by Guide Dogs UK, as well as meet some of the dogs in training alongside their dedicated trainers. Among those attending were Dave and Kath, a remarkable local couple who have made an outstanding contribution to the charity. Having fostered nearly 80 dogs, they have also helped to raise an impressive £1 million for the Shrewsbury Fundraising Group.
The event also shone a spotlight on how others can get involved. Guide Dogs UK is actively encouraging dog lovers with the time, space and passion to consider becoming puppy raisers. Volunteers are supported with full training and guidance as they help care for a guide dog puppy in its first year.
Head of Estates, Neil Anderson said: “Guide Dogs have been part of our tenant community for over seven years, starting off at New Zealand House and moving here four years ago. It’s always a pleasure to see the dogs progressing through their training here on site. They are a valued part of the office park and a daily reminder of the impact this work has.”
