Carpenter & Paterson Ltd supplies products worldwide and we have completed a hat-trick of maintenance and refurbishment jobs to make their buildings better insulated, leak-free and economical to run.
This project required the removal and replacement of an asbestos cement roof with a new economical and energy efficient roof installed. The roofing was replaced with insulated sheets whilst new overhead roller doors and replacement pedestrian doors were also installed.
Works were carried out in two phases. Phase one required us to create a new stainless steel store including a concrete floor, vehicle and pedestrian doors, vertical cladding and a complete re-roof. Once this phase was completed, it allowed us to move onto phase two in the main workshop once space had been cleared. Phase three included re-roofing a two-storey office block.
Externally, a tarmac ramp was formed and road markings added.
All work was carried out within the given timeframe and within a live factory. This meant we had to work around the client and their needs, for example when big orders came in we needed to ensure the workforce had the space needed to carry out their day job with as little interruptions as possible. To work flexibly we held daily meetings with the client to plan workload and maximise the efficiency of the works.
